I'm planning on buying a Wii/Wii fit bundle, and my boss says don't waste my money, I won't use it at all after 6 months and I'll be pissed that I put down so much money. What does everyone think? Do I get it?
PS. I'm not much of a gamer at all, so if anyone has a beef about low quality of Wii games (like my boss), it will be completely lost on me.

I still use it after 6 mouth and I still like it too.
Well I personally don’t use it much. The novelty seems to have worn off for me within one month.
I brought it to college with me though, exclusively because there’s a competitive SSBB league here.
the wii isn’t worth $250 let alone the bundle and if your really not a gamer why get it?
I think it’s a good investment. My husband bought me a Wii when they first came out. I enjoyed it at first, but then we sold it. Now there are so many new and better games out for it (Wii Fit, Mario Kart, Guitar Hero, etc) so we bought one again. I love it! I play it almost every day when I get home from work. =)
Ive had one since it came out! and ive used it like 3 times!
But it is good if you want to get fit and great fr when your drunk and/or have mates over!!!
I have never had a Wii, but all the people I know say you get sick of it after a few weeks, although i don’t believe everybody that I know that has a Wii says it!
not a lot because I don’t own one
I still use mine. I have my wii and i game on the PC. So I’m playing mass effect (much better on pc than on console)
Any console you buy must have the games you WANT to play.
Wii: You get less graphics but the new control scheme.
RE4 is a great game on the wii, for instance.
Zelda game pretty much justifies the whole system.
No More Heroes is an instant classic, and i reccomend it highly.
Metroid is a great example of a console shooter done correctly.
Mario is rated extremely highly.
Easy hackability to play emulated classic nintendo games.
New games are coming out now that the developers “get it”
Xbox: Halo. Theres some others.
PS3: Idk because i don’t care.
I typically don’t do those systems because the games are shallow. I vowed to never get another console until the wii came out.
The wii is about fun. Its great for 9 year olds, and for having great drinking parties with ur buddies.
Xbox is a solid system that just ups and dies on you periodically. I wanted one for dead rising, alone.
The PS3 is for the gamer who is mostly interested in going OMG LOOK AT WHAT I CAN DISPLAY ON MY TV OMG YOU GUYS LOVE ME hey, guys? hello? oh yeah no one is here because i have no friends.
HOWEVER: DO NOT listen to any fanboi posters who love their console and would be happy to tie it to their waists and follow them into the fiery depths of hell. Buy a systemm based on the GAMES you want to play with it.
If your not much of a gamer then perhaps any system you buy you possibly won’t be using in six months. Sooo… in that case the Wii is the cheapest so your best bet is to get that one. I have had my Wii since April, so this is six months for me. And i still play it at every oppurtunity imho games like Mario Kart never grow old, especially if u use wifi or have friends that play it. Provides hours of fun and fellowship!
I have only had a Wii for 4 months, but I can tell you I am gettin bored with it already. Nintendo is slow at putting games out. They are really expensive too. I don’t have the Wii Fit because I am not sure how fit one can get standing on a little box. Better off joining a gym. I as well am not a gamer. My boyfriend on the other hand… loves the thing. He is also getting less excercise than her normal would and my dishing aren’t getting washed much anymore either ;) .
All I can say you can try for yourself to see if you like it. If you don’t like or use it after 6 months then sell it. It may be worth it. Good luck!
I lost all interest in the Wii not only because the graphics but all the games that have come out for have been nothing but one big let down they sucked. Too much hype and too little delivered, in fact I went and bought a ps3 just cause of the system sucking it up. And now I am happy I got a system that can play both blu-ray dvd and dvd. Then it is bluetooth. I can go on the internet with out having to pay(yes you have to purchase internet channel on the wii with wii points). A lot more games the games are good. I can’t wait for FFXIIIVS to come out.
I’m like you, an occasional gamer so I thought Wii would be great… but the truth is, it requires too much effort. I bought mine in June and I’m bored of it- I’m thinking about selling it on ebay. The problem is, that the wiimote is a novelty which is about as exciting as a pen once you’ve figured it out. If I wanted to play tennis or golf I’d do it for real… occasionally, I just want to sit down and kill some brain cells by playing a computer game, I don’t want to be forced to do some fake-exercise-simulation. I thought it would be a great idea but really it’s a bit shite.
BUT…. MarioKart Wii and Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, totally make up for all the suckiness of the wii.
If your only getting the shitty wii fit, screw it.
I am getting one for Christmas Night. I cannot wait to get it.
*One of my games will be “Quantum of Solace” – The Video Game.
Unless you like yoga, the Wii Fit is just ok. It does help you keep track of your weight/progress if that is important to you. I agree with a lot of the others, if you like the games that are available then go for it.
We have one and we love it, but don’t use it often enough.
Don’t listen to your boss, he probably has chosen to play all the rubbish (rubbish doesn’t cover it!) third party games so he’s had a bad experience.
Whilst if you get pure nintendo titles like Wiifit or Super Mario Galaxy or Wario Ware: Smooth Moves etc., I’m sure the Wii will last you more than 12 months if you take my advice – has for me!
Yes! Definitely get it. If you hook up your internet up with your wii, which is actually very simple, then you will definitely last a LONG time more than 6 months, and there are so many games too. WII FIT is great, however, don’t just confine yourself to that, there are so many good choices. Wii games are high quality by the way with great quality. But the Wii in my opinion is the best system out there , and it is excellent to enjoy. Some people may complain that the wii got boring after a while, but here is the truth, the Wii is the BEST system, and those people are the people who buy video games too often, like one every time it comes out and plays too much that they get bored easily. I’m sure you are not like that, especially since you aren’t a exotic gamer that plays way too much. Well, the wii is awesome, and if it turns out that it becomes boring, which it hasn’t for me where I had it over 1 year since last June, well I send my regards, but trust me IT WILL NOT GET BORING. Besides, IF you get bored of it, you can always sell it it is worth ALOT these days with many new games coming up.
I enjoyed the wii alot more once if found the wiimiracle.com website.
love it use it daily
After 6 months it gets a little boring but it is SO much fun when people come over and play on it or if you get new games! :-)
