How does the Nintendo Wii conect to the internet?

Do you have to have a wireless router for the wii to get online, or can you use just a Ethernet cable?

    Out of the box, you need a wireless connection. The Wii doesn’t have an ethernet plug that you can use to connect to a modem or router.

    If you want to use a wired connection, you have to get the LAN adapter.

    If you want a wireless connection using your computer, you can get the USB Wi-Fi adapter.
